Capabilities
The Bettersizer is capable of measuring the size and shape of particles of soil, sediment, and granular powders within the range of 0.01 and 3500 microns using laser diffraction. For detailed specifications see the Bettersize homepage
Management Guidelines
The Bettersizer instrument is managed by a committee of members from Geography, Geological Sciences and a CoRPS representative. This committee has developed a set of guidelines for UA faculty and students interested in using the instrument for research and teaching. Please see the guidelines before initiating a use request.

Costs for sample analysis generally range from $5.00 to $20.00 per sample depending on faculty affiliation, sample type and other factors. Completion of the sample submission form will allow the management committee to provide complete cost details.
